Notice of uncontested election results
Chichester District Council has announced that as the number of candidates was lower than the number of vacancies to be filled at the election in May 2023, the election was declared to be uncontested and the candidates were elected as unopposed. As such, it was not necessary to hold an election for the Parish. See the Notice of Uncontested Election which sets out the persons who were duly elected as parish councillors for West Dean. Although there were insufficient candidates for an election, a quorum was achieved (three councillors or one third of the total seats, whichever is the greater). Festive waste and recycling collection dates confirmed for Chichester District
Residents in the Chichester District are being advised that the waste and recycling collection dates will be altering slightly over the festive period. Residents can download and print out their own personalised waste, recycling and garden recycling collection dates by visiting: www.chichester.gov.uk/wastecollectioncalendar. Other changes to collection services include the Garden Recycling Service which will stop on Friday 23 December, starting up again on Monday 9 January 2023. There will also be some slight changes to the clinical waste collections — all affected residents will be contacted directly. People aged 60 and over are now eligible for their COVID vaccination This week people aged 60 to 64 will be starting to receive their invitations to book their COVID jab. Letters will be arriving from the national booking service inviting them to visit www.nhs.uk/covid-vaccination or call 119 free of charge to arrange their appointment. By following these steps, anyone in this group will be able to book an appointment at the larger vaccination centres or pharmacy led services. Extending the programme to those aged 60 and over means that everyone in the first seven priority groups are now eligible for their vaccination, with people aged between 50 and 60 set to be invited shortly. In the seven days to Tuesday 2 February there were 1,795 new cases. This means on average, 256 people are testing positive for COVID-19 each day in West Sussex. However, cases are falling compared to the previous week. The latest data indicates there have been 37,758 cases so far in West Sussex as at Sunday 7th February 2021.
